50 MW of LONGi High-Power HI-MO 4 Modules Deployed at the Mahuanggou Solar Plant in China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region

PVTIME – Located in the Hongsibu District of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the 50MW Mahuanggou Solar Plant is one of the first batch of ground-level photovoltaic projects to be invested in by the China Datang Group.

The Hongsibu District is the largest concentrated area for ecological poverty alleviation in China and it is also a well-known grape growing base in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Covering an area of some 1700 acres and with an average altitude of 1800 meters, the Mahuanggou Plant was constructed by the China Energy Engineering Group and has adopted 50MW of LONGi Hi-MO 4 modules with fixed brackets.

In the very early stages of the project, it was planned to use other brands of conventional modules but, after repeated comparison with the actual application of Hi-MO 4 modules, the investor found that LONGi’s products had obvious advantages in terms of BOS cost savings and power generation benefits and ultimately changed the purchasing plan.

The Ningxia Hui Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region has abundant light resources, with annual horizontal irradiation reaching 1600KWh/square meter. The LONGi Hi-MO 4 modules deployed at this project have significantly reduced the number of fixed brackets and piles required, delivering further BOS cost savings and enhanced performance in real time application.

“LONGi has actively cooperated in the construction of the Mahuanggou Plant. The modules they have supplied have clear advantages in land saving, while also achieving lower BOS costs in overall project construction. LONGi was the first company to complete the supply of modules among all the main equipment partners, which has ensured the successful completion of the project. We are very happy to cooperate with LONGi,” said a China Datang Group spokesperson.

LONGi has cooperated with the China Datang Group since 2015. Last year, LONGi supplied advanced Hi-MO 4 modules for the Group’s power generation projects in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Hubei, Zhejiang and Guangdong Provinces. The successful completion of this project has strengthened an already close relationship between the two companies and has played a positive role in promoting the organisations’ desire to achieve ever more significant results in the field of renewable energy.

In recent years, with the application and development of photovoltaic power generation in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the “Agriculture-Solar Complementary” project has gradually become the way to achieve comprehensive benefits in the region, and also enhance an already beautiful landscape.
