470MW! Antaisolar Inks Solar Tracker Contract with Enter Engineering

PVTIME – Antaisolar, a prominent provider of photovoltaic tracking systems, has recently announced the signing of a supply agreement with Enter Engineering, a leading Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor in Central Asia, for 470 MW solar tracking systems for a Photovoltaic (PV) plant being constructed in Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan is situated in the heartland of Central Asia and is abundantly endowed with solar resources, making it an emerging market with enormous potential for renewable energy, particularly solar power. In response to global climate change and local economic development aspirations, Uzbekistan intends to increase its share of renewable energy in the total power generation to 25% by 2026.

The solar power project is planned to conclude by December 2023 and will encourage the development and construction of centralised solar power systems. There will also be an upgrade to the local energy infrastructure. The project employs Antaisolar’s TAI-Simple, slew-drive, single-axis 1P independent tracking system which can boost power generation by 18.5%-24%. The system can effectively accommodate large bifacial solar modules with substantial tracking angles, thereby improving power generation efficiency and reducing operating costs.

This specific PV project is anticipated to produce about 601.6GWh of clean electricity per year, which will correspondingly reduce 600,000 MT of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
