PVTIME – Nextnova Solar, a solar cell manufacturer based in Oklahoma City, has confirmed plans to build a large-scale solar cell production facility in Yukon, Oklahoma. Designed to bolster the United States’ domestic photovoltaic manufacturing capabilities, the development will span 42,550 square metres.
Construction is set to begin in November 2026, with full-scale production scheduled to commence in March 2027. The site will have an initial annual production capacity of 2GW and is expected to create 300 local jobs upon launch.
The facility is designed to be scalable to accommodate future market growth, with a maximum expandable annual capacity of 5GW. Further job creation is projected during the capacity expansion phase. The project will support the advancement of local clean energy manufacturing industries while enhancing domestic solar cell supply chains across the United States.
