PVTIME – JinkoSolar, a global leader in photovoltaics, has formally signed a 2GW high-efficiency PV module supply agreement with Masdar, the UAE’s leading future energy enterprise. Under the agreement, JinkoSolar will deliver its high-performance Tiger Neo modules to Abu Dhabi’s flagship Round-the-Clock (RTC) integrated solar-storage project. The modules’ premium capabilities will ensure stable and efficient clean power output.

The RTC project is a joint development by Masdar and the UAE’s EWEC, and is the world’s first and largest renewable energy scheme to integrate solar and storage. It combines solar power and energy storage seamlessly to deliver uninterrupted clean electricity during low-light periods. Comprising a 5.2GW solar plant and a 19GWh battery storage system.
Designed to support the UAE’s AI data centres, supercomputing and digital economy, the RTC project incorporates cutting-edge technologies, including virtual power plants, grid networking, black start support and AI-powered intelligent dispatching, to meet the demanding stability and reliability requirements of computing loads. With a total investment of over 22 billion dirhams, the project will create more than 10,000 jobs, stimulate growth in high-end new energy manufacturing and reduce annual carbon emissions by around 5.7 million tonnes upon commissioning in 2027.
As a global model for integrating the transition to new energy and digital computing, the RTC project will transform the way renewable energy is developed and provide a replicable benchmark for zero-carbon computing energy systems. This will strengthen the UAE’s position as a leader in integrating new energy and AI green computing.
The 2GW supply deal marks a key milestone in JinkoSolar’s expansion into the high-end new energy market in the Middle East and in its strategic partnership with Masdar. JinkoSolar will provide high-quality products and localised technical support to advance the RTC project, thereby empowering large-scale, global zero-carbon initiatives and accelerating the energy transition.
