PVTIME – On 12 March 2024, AIKO, a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions, announced that it will invest approximately 2.715 billion yuan to upgrade the production lines at its Yiwu base from PERC solar cells to TOPCon, with a production capacity of 25GW per year.
In order to better meet the differentiated needs of various customers in the renewable energy market and increase AIKO’s market share and profitability, the company decided to optimise its capacity structure according to the industry development trend and the company’s strategic planning.
It is expected to adopt mature TOPCon technology to extend the life of original equipment and reduce the risk of asset impairment in the future. And the investment in upgrading will be positive for AIKO’s sustainable development and in line with the interests of AIKO and all its shareholders.
