14GW! Drinda and Hoang Thinh Dat Ink for Solar Cell Manufacturing Project in Vietnam

PVTIME – Hainan Drinda Automotive Trim Co., Ltd. (Drinda, 002865.SZ), a China-based company engaged in the development, production and sale of plastic automotive interior and exterior parts, recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Hoang Thinh Dat, a leading PV company in Vietnam, to establish a solar cell production base in Vietnam.

According to the agreement, this special project with a production capacity of 14GW of solar cells will be located in the Hoang Mai II Industrial Park in the Southeast Economic Zone of Nghe An Province, Vietnam.

The project is expected to be completed in two phases. The first phase, with a total investment of $450 million, is expected to be operational in Q4 2024, bringing socio-economic development and increased employment opportunities for local workers.

Nghe An Province highly appreciates the implementation of the solar cell production project by Drinda, which will help Nghe An Province and Vietnam as a whole to promote the transformation process and shift the structure of energy use towards renewable and clean energy. The project will contribute to Vietnam’s commitment to achieve net-zero emissions and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
