PVTIME – Tongwei Co., Ltd. (Tongwei, 600438.SH), a leading company engaged in the R&D, manufacturing and marketing of solar core products, recently announced that the first phase of its silicon material processing plant in Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner, Inner Mongolia, China will be completed very soon.
The project was initiated by a joint venture company established by Tongwei and the Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner People’s Government with a registered capital of 10 million yuan. The first phase is planned to be operational in September 2024, producing 120,000MT of industrial silicon per year. A further 240,000MT of silicon material is planned after that.
The whole project is expected to promote the energy transition and renewable production project in the Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner region, as well as achieve the local low carbon target.
