1.2GW Solar Facility Set for Uttar Pradesh

PVTIME – Indian PV manufacturer HVR Solar has signed multiple commercial agreements for the construction of a 1.2GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. The company has signed a MoU with Han’s PV, which will supply the production lines and manufacturing equipment for the new plant.

Sagar Sachdev, HVR Solar’s director, explained that the project is part of the company’s strategy to develop a forward-looking industrial ecosystem and strengthen India’s position within the global photovoltaic value chain. The investment demonstrates a commitment to innovation, supply chain self-sufficiency, and sustainable industrial growth, and is expected to deliver long-term economic benefits to clients, partners, and local residents.

Separate supply arrangements have been agreed with Gentech for process chemicals and gas utility infrastructure, and Indygreen Technologies will coordinate the project to manage production line integration and deployment. The firm also held talks with numerous utility suppliers at an exhibition in Shanghai to expand its domestic supply chain network.

This development is in line with national efforts to increase India’s indigenous PV manufacturing capacity and reduce its reliance on imported modules. Upon commissioning, the Amroha facility is forecast to create over 500 jobs in engineering, operations and administration.
