PVTIME – In January 2026, the ignition ceremony for Xinyi Solar’s inaugural photovoltaic glass furnace in Indonesia was held at the JIIPE Special Economic Zone. This event marked a new phase of production for the facility, which was designed to operate safely and sustainably.

Using internationally advanced ultra-clear rolled photovoltaic glass manufacturing technology and intelligent equipment, the furnace has a daily melting capacity of 1,200 tonnes and an annual output of over 360,000 tonnes. This output can support the production of approximately 8GW of solar modules, contributing to the rapid growth of clean energy in Southeast Asia and neighbouring regions.
In response to the Belt and Road Initiative, Xinyi Solar will increase its investment and cooperation in Indonesia, focusing on green manufacturing upgrades, photovoltaic technology innovation, supply chain collaboration, and local talent development. The company’s goal is to establish an advanced regional photovoltaic materials manufacturing hub, thereby driving global green and low-carbon progress.
