PVTIME – The French solar module manufacturer Voltec Solar has signed a supply agreement with the Japanese solar cell producer Toyo, to use its solar photovoltaic cells in Voltec Solar’s products. The deal was announced at one of Toyo’s manufacturing facilities in Vietnam, marking the Japanese TOPCon firm’s entry into the European market.

While neither company shared details on the source or supply volume of the cells, Voltec confirmed its intention to increase its annual module manufacturing capacity to 1GW by the end of 2027. Erick Valdez, Voltec Solar’s Chief Operating Officer, said that this partnership would strengthen the company’s supply chain and enable it to deliver certified, climate-compliant solar solutions across Europe.
Earlier this year, Toyo announced that it had begun producing solar cells at a new facility in Ethiopia, revealing increased shipments to the US market as it expands its global footprint. The company also noted that the agreement aligns with the EU’s Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA), which supports the manufacture of clean energy in Europe, including solar modules that use cells produced overseas.
Last month, Voltec launched its new Tarka Diamant module, which is designed specifically for use in hailstorm-prone environments.
