US Solar Alliance Files New AD/CVD Probes Against Asian Operators

PVTIME – The US Solar Manufacturing and Trade Alliance has filed new anti-dumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) petitions targeting Chinese-owned solar production facilities in Indonesia and Laos, as well as Indian photovoltaic companies, for alleged unlawful trade practices.

The Alliance has submitted two investigations to the US International Trade Commission (ITC) and the US Department of Commerce (DOC), focusing on Chinese-operated entities in Indonesia and Laos, as well as Indian solar companies.

This follows a 2024 US inquiry into dumped solar cells and modules from Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, which sparked a rapid shift in production to other countries. In its wake, imports from India, Indonesia and Laos have surged.

In response to this trend, the US solar sector has acted swiftly, with the alliance’s new application calling for an additional round of AD/CVD investigations into these three countries.
