PVTIME – Shandong Shaanqi Engineering Machinery (Group) Co., Ltd. (“Shaanqi Group”) has partnered with Huawei Digital Energy to deliver a pioneering “solar-storage” project for the engineering machinery sector. The project uses Huawei’s industrial and commercial solar-storage solution to integrate photovoltaic power generation with intelligent energy storage, forming an efficient ‘clean energy generation–intelligent storage’ loop. This reduces production energy costs, provides a green energy base for heavy equipment manufacturing and promotes the low-carbon transformation of the entire engineering machinery industry.
As a leading equipment manufacturer in Shandong Province, Shaanqi Group is committed to green development and energy efficiency. In 2024, the company launched a 1.1 MW rooftop photovoltaic project comprising a distributed solar station and an advanced intelligent energy storage system.
To meet high safety and intelligence standards, the project uses 10 Huawei 110 kW photovoltaic inverters and 10 new-generation 215 kWh wind-liquid intelligent cooling energy storage systems. Once operational, the project is expected to generate 1.43 million kWh of electricity per year, reduce CO₂ emissions by around 830 tonnes per year and handle 750,000 kWh of storage regulation.
The project enables high self-consumption of on-site electricity, reducing reliance on the traditional grid and enhancing energy autonomy. It ensures stable green power even during peak hours, supporting the 24/7 operation of key production processes.
