PVTIME – On June 29th, after being cordially received by leaders including Xu Kunlin, Deputy Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Governor of Jiangsu Province, and Liu Xiaotao, Deputy Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, Mohammed Abunayyan, the founder and Chairman of Saudi ACWA Power, and Zhu Gongshan, Chairman of the GCL Group, jointly came to the GCL Suzhou Energy Center to discuss major strategic cooperation plans and inject strong impetus into the development of the new energy industry cluster in Suzhou.
Under the joint witness of Mohammed Abunayyan and Zhu Gongshan, Zhu Yufeng, Vice Chairman and President of the GCL Group, and Saleh Al-Habti, Chairman of ACWA Power China, respectively represented GCL and ACWA Power Investment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. to officially sign a strategic cooperation agreement. They joined hands to build a green energy industry highland with international influence and jointly draw a new blueprint for the high-quality development of the new power system.
According to the agreement, both parties will give full play to their respective advantages and conduct in-depth cooperation around the project investment, development and operation in the field of the new power system. Relying on its mature experience and resource advantages accumulated over the years in project development, construction and operation, GCL will form a complement with ACWA Power Investment’s rich experience and abundant capital advantages in the power field. The two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in multiple fields such as wind power, photovoltaic power, energy storage, pumped storage, and the integration of source, grid, load and storage. Through the integration of resources, they will further strengthen the green energy industry and inject strong impetus into promoting the development of green energy in China.
Before the signing ceremony, accompanied by Zhu Gongshan and Zhu Yufeng, Mohammed Abunayyan and his delegation visited the GCL Future Energy Pavilion with great interest and had an immersive experience of GCL’s energy innovation path and zero-carbon technology journey.
Mohammed Abunayyan spoke highly of the remarkable achievements made by GCL as a global energy leader and its outstanding contributions to promoting the global energy transformation process. He said that GCL’s strong strength, leading technology and innovative model in the fields of clean energy and new energy are widely praised. “Chairman Zhu Gongshan is an entrepreneur I particularly admire and I hope he can be my teacher in China.” Mohammed Abunayyan looks forward to ACWA Power and GCL continuously deepening cooperation in China, globally and in Saudi Arabia, establishing a permanent partnership and achieving long-term win-win development.
Zhu Gongshan warmly welcomed Mohammed Abunayyan’s visit.
