PVTIME – Premier Energies has commenced trial production at its newly-completed 7GW N-type TOPCon G12R solar cell manufacturing facility in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh. Upon full ramp-up, the plant will raise the company’s total cell capacity to 10.6GW, consolidating its position as one of India’s leading solar cell manufacturers. Average cell conversion efficiency at the site is expected to reach around 25.8% once production lines stabilise.

Back in March this year, the firm began trial operations at its 5.6GW module manufacturing facility in Telangana. Covering approximately 75 acres, the site features highly automated G12R TOPCon production hardware and brings Premier Energies’ overall module capacity to 11.1GW.
Completion of India’s largest solar cell manufacturing complex on time and within budget marks a key milestone for the business. The company maintains an optimistic view of order intake, pricing and demand for high-efficiency solar products. This 7GW capacity expansion arrives at a strategically important juncture. As output scales, operational efficiencies and scale benefits will improve supply dependability. Planned upstream investments in ingot and wafer production will further advance its strategy to become a fully integrated, globally competitive solar manufacturer, whilst supporting India’s clean energy transition.
The Naidupeta facility forms a central element of Premier Energies’ integrated manufacturing roadmap. The combination of large-scale capacity, automated processes and advanced cell technology is designed to boost manufacturing competitiveness and reinforce supply chain resilience. These improvements will enable the business to meet rising demand for high-efficiency solar products across domestic Indian and international markets, according to company leadership.
