PVTIME – Global industrial giant Stäubli has announced a $10 million investment to expand its manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, India, which produces photovoltaic electrical connectors. These critical components link PV modules to inverters and balance of system (BOS) equipment, and the expansion will focus on ensuring they are of the highest quality.

The expansion will introduce advanced automated assembly lines and enhanced quality assurance systems, with a focus on producing two connector models: the MC4-Evo1 and the MC4-Evo2.
The Bengaluru plant currently supplies India’s major high-demand centres, including Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chennai, and Karnataka. Stäubli stated that the expansion aims to meet the growing demand for high-quality, locally manufactured PV connectors, as well as supporting global supply needs. This will be achieved by boosting output, reducing delivery lead times, and strengthening supply chain resilience for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors, and asset owners.
