PVTIME – PVV Infra, a construction and civil engineering company, has announced plans to build a 1GW TOPCon solar cell production line in Andhra Pradesh, India, marking its formal diversification into renewable energy.

The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board for the manufacturing facility, with a total investment of approximately 6.5 billion rupees ($73.4 million).
The plant is expected to generate 350 direct jobs and an additional 450 indirect roles across supply chain logistics and other supporting areas when it is completed in 2026, thereby boosting local economic growth.
However, PVV Infra has yet to share specific next steps, detailed timelines, or key project specifics, such as technology sources and production ramp-up schedules. Industry insiders suggest that the success of this cross-sector expansion will depend on the company’s technology integration capabilities and local operational expertise.
