5GWh! Trina Solar Secures Grid-Scale Storage Deal

PVTIME – On 4 November, Trina Solar announced via a regulatory filing that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Trina Energy Storage Solutions (Singapore) Pte. Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding with Pacific Green Energy Group Pty Ltd. The two parties plan to collaborate on supplying 5GWh of grid-scale battery energy storage systems between 2026 and 2028.

Under the agreement, Trina Energy Storage Solutions will provide its advanced grid-scale battery systems, which integrate industry-leading technology and offer exceptional advantages in terms of safety, efficiency, and service life. Pacific Green will be responsible for developing multiple project sites and delivering projects in Australia and other international markets.

Trina Solar noted that the memorandum marks a key milestone for both companies in the global renewable energy sector. This collaboration will combine the strengths of both parties, strengthen Trina Energy Storage’s and Pacific Green’s presence in Australia’s high-end energy storage market, and reinforce their leading positions in the global energy storage industry. Once completed, the project will be able to store and deliver up to 5GWh of electricity to the grid, which will significantly boost grid reliability, accelerate the clean energy transition, and support the achievement of a low-carbon future.
