PVTIME – Astronergy, a leading company in the PV industry, is set to establish a significant presence in Yibin City, Sichuan Province, China. The local Environment Management Committee has recently approved the construction of a cutting-edge solar module factory.

This new PV production base, initiated by Astronergy, represents a substantial investment of 1.5 billion yuan. Once operational, the factory will have an annual production capacity of 5GW of high-efficiency solar modules.
New production workshops will be built and equipped with advanced manufacturing technologies to ensure the efficient production of solar modules. Raw material and finished product warehouses are also part of the plan and are designed to facilitate the smooth management of the inflow and outflow of materials and products.
On 1 August 2023, the company signed a significant project agreement within the Yibin High-Tech Industrial Park. This initiative, underpinned by total investments of around 12 billion yuan, is earmarked for execution in two distinct phases.
The first phase of this ambitious project will see the creation of a production base with an annual output capacity of 10GW of high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar cells and 3GW of photovoltaic modules. This cutting-edge facility will leverage state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies and play a pivotal role in meeting the growing global demand for clean energy solutions.
The second phase will see the construction of a production base with an annual output capacity of 10GW of high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar cells and 2GW of modules. This phased approach will ensure Astronergy’s systematic and sustainable growth in the region.
