The signing ceremony, hosted by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Investment (MISA) in Riyadh, marked a commitment to the ‘America First’ initiative and Saudi Arabia’s pledge to invest in critical US energy infrastructure, aimed at driving GCC investment in the United States.
T1 Energy, which previously operated as Norwegian lithium battery company FREYR Battery, completed a strategic rebranding and operational shift in late 2024-early 2025, moving its headquarters from Georgia to Austin, Texas. The company has refocused its business on PV and ESS, with ambitions to become a vertically integrated provider of end-to-end energy solutions in the US.
The partnership underlines the global momentum towards decarbonisation and strengthens cross-border cooperation in renewable energy infrastructure, positioning the G2_Austin facility as a landmark project in the transition to clean energy.
