PVTIME – Chinese solar giant DAS Solar has announced the launch of a 3GW solar module manufacturing plant in Nedey, France, its first production facility in Europe. Cited as a Tier 1 supplier by BloombergNEF (BNEF), the company revealed the project in November 2023 with a €109 million ($115 million) investment, targeting construction on existing industrial land with rooftop solar installations to reduce carbon emissions during development.

In a dual announcement, DAS Solar signed a strategic partnership with French automotive group Nedey to supply high-efficiency photovoltaic systems and pledged to build local production lines for cables, junction boxes, and other components, aiming to create a “Made in France” supply chain. This facility will enhance DAS Solar’s regional service capabilities, drive job creation and promote collaborative innovation in the energy sector, said Chairman and CEO Liu Yong.
Boasting a global cell and module capacity of 55GW, including TOPCon cells with a breakthrough 27%+ conversion efficiency, DAS Solar already operates a business center in Germany to support European projects. The French plant underscores DAS Solar’s commitment to combining advanced technology with localized manufacturing, positioning it as a key enabler of Europe’s renewable energy transition amid surging demand for clean power solutions.
