PVTIME – LONGi has partnered with the leading renewable energy developer, NOFAR Energy, to begin construction of the largest BC solar power project ever to be built in Romania. With a capacity of 282 MW, the project will utilise LONGi’s second-generation BC technology integrated into its Hi-MO 9 modules. NOFAR Energy, a globally recognised energy firm, has identified BC technology as the ultimate solution for its flagship European projects, with the aim of setting a new technical benchmark for the energy transition in Romania and across Europe.

Situated in Dâmbovița County, Romania, the Corbii Mari project is scheduled to connect to the grid and commence operations in 2026. Once completed, it will supply consistent green energy to support the growth of the local agricultural ecosystem. Following multiple rounds of value assessment and comparison, NOFAR Energy selected LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 modules for their strong value retention throughout the full lifecycle. These modules exhibit ultra-low degradation in challenging conditions such as high heat and humidity, minimising the impact of outdoor moisture and temperature fluctuations on performance and ensuring stable power output throughout the plant’s operational life.
Calculations show that the project will generate approximately 380 GWh of electricity each year, reducing carbon emissions by around 220,000 tonnes annually. This is equivalent to eliminating the emissions produced by approximately 48,000 vehicles with internal combustion engines and providing clean, green power to over 50,000 Romanian households.
Abe at the forefront of Eastern Europe’s energy transition, the Corbii Mari project creates a high-value, replicable model for NOFAR Energy’s future projects and will accelerate the adoption of BC technology across Europe’s renewable energy sector. Looking ahead, LONGi plans to collaborate with more global energy partners, providing its efficient BC technology and high-quality, value-driven solutions to help elevate the global renewable energy industry.
