270.3 Billion Rupees! Premier Energies Secures Major Solar Supply Deal

PVTIME – Premier Energies, a solar energy firm based in Hyderabad, has announced that its subsidiary has secured a significant supply contract worth 270.3 billion rupees (approximately 21.8 billion yuan). The agreement involves supplying solar photovoltaic modules and cells with a combined capacity of 2,059MW, marking a significant milestone for the Indian manufacturer.

This announcement follows a period of notable volatility in Premier Energies’ share price, which was triggered by an investigation into Indian photovoltaic producers by the United States and the subsequent imposition of additional tariffs. By proactively sharing details of this large-scale order, Premier Energies is taking a crucial step to stabilise market expectations and address recent fluctuations in its stock value. To further reassure stakeholders, Premier Energies has emphasised its limited exposure to the US market, noting that orders from the US account for less than 1% of its total sales. The firm has noted that this low level of dependency means it faces only minimal risk from external policy changes, such as the recent US tariff measures, and that its business model remains firmly rooted in India’s domestic market.

In a regulatory filing, Premier Energies confirmed that it had formally received the substantial order, which will be implemented in phases between the 2026 and 2027 fiscal years. This extended execution timeline is set to provide robust support for the company’s financial performance over the next two years. To ensure it can fulfil the contract, Premier Energies is expanding its production capacity through various strategic initiatives. It is currently constructing 4.8GW of TOPCon battery production capacity and 5.6GW of module production capacity, and is collaborating with Taiwan-based SAS to develop a 2GW silicon wafer factory. These capacity-building efforts are designed to guarantee the smooth delivery of the newly secured order.
