PVTIME – During the KEY – The Energy Transition Expo 2026, Tongwei formalised a cooperation agreement for the supply of 200MW of high-efficiency photovoltaic modules with Coenergia, Italy’s leading photovoltaic distributor.

The agreement was signed by Chen Fangzhou, Head of Overseas Module Marketing at Tongwei’s Photovoltaic Business Department, and Carlo Moretti, Coenergia’s Chief Executive Officer. It strengthens the companies’ existing collaboration and will advance the deployment of high-efficiency modules across Southern Europe.
A European renewable energy pioneer, Italy aims to install 80GW of photovoltaic capacity by 2030, with distributed projects accounting for over 60%. Market demand for high-efficiency, low-emission, easy-to-install photovoltaic modules has surged due to high electricity prices, limited land resources, and supportive low-carbon policies. These factors have driven Tongwei’s ongoing development of next-generation module technology.
Coenergia, which holds the highest market share in Italy, is well placed to address the country’s challenges relating to dense industrial and commercial rooftops and limited household rooftop space. Central to the partnership is Tongwei’s TNC 3.0 module, which delivers a conversion efficiency of over 24.8% and a maximum power output of 670W. This enables a higher installed capacity and power generation in identical scenarios, thus boosting electricity revenue.
Calculations for a 100MW ground-mounted power station in Rome using Tracker 320kW string inverters and a local feed-in tariff of 0.51 yuan/kWh show that TNC 3.0 modules generate an average of 3.37 million additional kWh annually compared to conventional alternatives. The module also excels in high-temperature environments thanks to its optimised temperature coefficient of -0.26%/℃. This performance is industry-leading among comparable products.
This stable performance, even in extreme heat such as that experienced in deserts, on urban rooftops or during hot summer periods, eliminates ‘high-temperature discounts’ and delivers tangible power generation gains and measurable returns. This technical capability is fundamental to the 200MW collaboration, representing a significant milestone in the large-scale deployment of Tongwei’s high-efficiency modules in Southern Europe.
