Talesun Solar to Supply 127 MW to CPV in the US

PVTIME – The China Jiangsu based leading PV module manufacturer, Talesun Solar announced recently that the company has signed agreement with leading electric power generation development and asset management company, Competitive Power Ventures (CPV), for 127MW PV module supply to Maple Hill Solar, a solar power generation facility in Portage Township, Pennsylvania State.

The Maple Hill facility, located on the site of a former coal mine, is expected to begin generating electricity by May of 2022. This solar farm will consist of 530+ watt bi-facial solar panels which are provided by Talesun Solar. Major renewable energy project will be capable of powering 18,000 Pennsylvania households. The project will offset more than 100,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions by displacing generation from older, nonrenewable facilities, equivalent to removing 21,000 cars from the road. Approximately 250 jobs are expected to be created during the construction phase of Maple Hill Solar.

“We look forward to building on our new relationship with Talesun Solar in the US market. Talesun’s technology, performance, and reliability were key factors in their selection,” said Sean Finnerty, executive vice president of CPV. “Our renewable development projects are growing and include both wind and additional solar which will provide more opportunities moving forward.”

“We are delighted to work with CPV for this project which is putting a former coal land to a clean energy utility and to see that the superior quality of Talesun solar products alongside our experienced services are recognized. The collaboration with CPV will strengthen Talesun’s expansion in the US market and marks another significant milestone in our journey to accelerate the adoption of a low-carbon economy activity globally.” said Yabin Xing, President of Talesun North America, “We set up Thailand factory in 2015. In order to meet the U.S. order demand surge, Talesun Solar Thailand’s production base successfully completed the 2.2 GW capacity upgrade this year. We see more and more US companies developing in solar PV parks as CPV is doing, and Talesun Solar is willing to contribute with our high quality products and services to help our customers for their targets.”
