Yingli Green Energy Announces Ability to Conduct In-House UL Certification Testing

Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Limited (NYSE: YGE) (“Yingli Green Energy” or the “Company”), a leading solar energy company and the world’s largest photovoltaic (“PV”) manufacturer, which markets its products under the brand “Yingli Solar”, today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Yingli Energy (China) Company Limited (“Yingli China”), is now authorized to conduct in-house Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification testing for solar modules. The participation in UL’s Client Test Data Program (CTDP) further validates Yingli Green Energy’s advanced quality control and product testing capabilities.

Yingli Green Energy’s UL certification testing will now transpire at the Company’s Baoding, China-based laboratory facilities, which significantly reduces the time required to bring new products to market. The Company obtained CTDP certification after passing a rigorous assessment by UL, who will thoroughly audit all test results, as well as reassess the management system of the Company’s laboratory facilities on an annual basis to ensure the validity of the results.

“Obtaining UL’s CTDP certification is representative of the Company’s dedication to technology and product quality,” said Dr. Dengyuan Song, Chief Technology Officer of Yingli Green Energy. “We are deeply committed to delivering high-quality solar modules that exceeds customer expectations, and our decision to participate in UL’s CTDP program reflects that commitment.”

“UL would like to congratulate Yingli Green Energy on achieving CTDP laboratory status, which will further facilitate market access of their products all over the world, especially in the Americas market where the UL label is highly respected and sought-after. This certification is an important demonstration of Yingli Green Energy’s long-term commitment to quality,” stated Evelyn M. Butler, Business Development Director, UL Energy & Industrial Systems business division.
