MOFCOM Start Trade Remedy Investigation on Imports of Solar-grade Polysilicon from the U.S. and South Korea

Ministry of Commerce of the P. R. China released on July 20 its Announcement No. 40 and No. 41, 2012, deciding to launch both anti-dumping and countervailing investigations on imports of solar-grade polysilicon from the U.S., and to launch an anti-dumping investigation on imports of the same commodity from South Korea. Tariff No. of solar-grade polysilicon is 28046190 under Import and Export Tariffs of the People’s Republic of China. Electronic-grade polysilicon under that tariff No. is not covered by this investigation.

As prescribed in both the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Anti-dumping and the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Countervailing, Ministry of Commerce will start the investigations on dumping and subsidy of the imports from the U.S. and South Korea, as well as the injury to solar-grade polysilicon industry in China, then make an adjudication under state law.
