PVTIME – Guangdong Gaojing Solar Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Gaojing Solar”) announced on June 10 that its production capacity has reached 30GW ahead of schedule in its Zhuhai Base.
The project mainly engaged on the R&D of large-size wafers and silicon rods was initiated on 10 December, 2020, in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, with a total investment of CNY 17 billion.
The company is very pleased to achieve its production goal ahead of schedule. Gaojing stated that it is producing at full capacity to meet the demand, for the large-size silicon wafers are currently in short supply. What is more, a total production capacity of 50GW is expected when the whole project is completed in 2023.
Furthermore, Gaojing will expand its production capacity by building 50GW of monocrystalline silicon rods and 30GW of monocrystalilne silicon slices projects in Yibin City, Sichuan Province, with a total investment of 22 billion yuan. Then the total production capacity of Gaojing Solar wafers will reach 80GW per year as the Yibin base completed.
