Energy China Signs 15 Billion Yuan Investment Agreement With Kaifeng City for the Development of a Low-Carbon Smart City Project

PVTIME – Recently, Energy China and Kaifeng Municipal People’s Government signed a 15 billion yuan investment agreement for the development of a low-carbon smart city energy demonstration project.

According to the agreement, Energy China will complete a 15 billion yuan project investment in the Kaifeng Urban-Rural Integration Demonstration Zone over the next five years. The investment will go towards the development of wind power, photovoltaics, hydrogen and other new energy projects, as well as public transportation, public facilities, and urban central heating.

In the field of intelligent transformation of infrastructure such as solid waste treatment, the investment will assist Kaifeng City to carry out the construction of a low-carbon smart city and achieve the goal of high-quality economic development in the demonstration zone as soon as possible. The two parties will fully integrate market resources and jointly build the Kaifeng Urban-Rural Integration Demonstration Zone into a national comprehensive energy development demonstration base.

In recent years, Energy China has been deeply involved in the Henan new energy power generation market, helping to implement the “dual carbon” goal in Henan. Projects such as the Ruyang Liudian Wind Farm and Yexian Baoan Wind Farm have been put into operation and are generating about 350 million kWh of clean electricity to the local area annually; reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 180,000MT, optimizing the local power supply structure, and helping the local economy achieve high-quality development.
