China’s First Module Recycling Line Kicks off by Yellow River Company in Qinghai Province

PVTIME – Yellow River Upstream Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yellow River Company), a leading company mainly develops, constructs, and manages power plants, announced that recently, its project named “Research on the Industrialization of Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Module Recycling and Equipment Localization”, which was independently carried out by Yellow River Company, was verified by experts.

This is the very first pilot scale production line for module recycling in China. It linked every steps in the photovoltaic industry chain, such as polysilicon, silicon wafers, cells, modules, brackets, photovoltaic power station design and construction, operation and maintenance, testing and evaluation, and module recycling, into a closed loop, can dramatically reduce the waste of resources and decrease the costs.

The project based in Qinghai Province, China, which is eager to develop new energy plants. The recycling pilot line would be meaningful in this region. As of the end of 2021, the total installed photovoltaic capacity of Qinghai Province had reached 16 million kilowatts, which is currently the most concentrated area of large-scale grid-connected photovoltaic plants in the world. The recycling pilot line could be helpful to avoid the waste of resources.

The Yellow River Company is a leading enterprise in China’s photovoltaic power generation industry, with a total installed capacity of 26.8982GW, of which photovoltaic installed capacity is 8.2105GW.
