Baywa r.e.’s Novotegra Mounting System Becomes Independent

PVTIME – BayWa r.e. has announced the launch of novotegra GmbH as a new, independent mounting system manufacturer, following the resounding success of its well-known novotegra mounting system.

This means that novotegra GmbH will control all of BayWa r.e.’s photovoltaic mounting system manufacturing activities from now on. Previously, BayWa r.e. Solar Energy Systems GmbH was jointly responsible for the manufacturing and sales activities.

With more than 20 years of experience in the development of photovoltaic mounting systems, BayWa r.e.’s solar distribution subsidiary further developed the product offer in the substructure area creating new solutions. With the establishment of the new business “novotegra GmbH”, the company is well placed to continue its development and further expand its activities throughout Europe.

Thomas Pfaff, novotegra’s head of product management for many years, will be taking over the management of novotegra GmbH, which is based in Tübingen.

“We are delighted by the fact that our system, whose efficiency we have managed to continuously increase over the past few years, has established itself so well on the market. We now intend to continue novotegra’s success story, and to expand our activities even further,” said Thomas Pfaff.

The beginnings of the mounting system date back to 1999, when first solutions were made of galvanised steel and marketed under the name ’tegra‘, later ’alutegra‘ before becoming ‘novotegra’ in 2007. Continuous research and development made it possible to increase turnover five times in the past five years.

Novotegra customers will continue to enjoy the same high level of service, however the new business will help to deliver improved services and greater efficiencies.

Frank Jessel, Global Director of Solar Trade at BayWa r.e. added: “We expect this repositioning to lead to a faster development time for new products and even better customer support.”

Sales throughout Europe will continue to be handled by the BayWa r.e. wholesale companies.
