23.8 Billion Yuan! GCL and Dongyuan to Launch Silicon Material Projects in Inner Mongolia, China

PVTIME – On May 9, GCL Group, Inner Mongolia Dongyuan Technology Co., Ltd., and the the People’s Government of Wuhai City, Inner Mongolia, signed for an integrated project agreement on the production of granular silicon and relevant materials for downstream industry, with a total investment of 23.8 billion yuan.

According to the Agreement, the first phase of the project will focus on the production of 300,000 MT of high-purity nano-silicon powder and 100,000 MT of granular silicon, with an estimated investment of 13.8 billion yuan. Then the second phase involves a granular silicon production (100,000 MT) project with a planned investment of 10 billion yuan.

The new partnership is expected to promote the development of silicon material innovation and the production of carbon materials in Wuhai City, which is on its way to build Zero Carbon Industrial Park, National New Energy Demonstration Area as a leading Carbon Neutral Demonstration City. The People’s Government of Wuhai City is pleased to cooperate with renewable material manufacturers to transform local energy structure to green, low-carbon and renewable as a national and world-class model. The three parties would like to further cooperate in photovoltaic downstream, hydrogen energy, mobile energy industry chain, high-end manufacturing and other clean energy fields.
