$226 Million! Hangzhou First to Launch PV Film Project for High-Efficiency Cells in Vietnam

PVTIME – On June 14, Hangzhou First Applied Material Co., Ltd. (603806.SH), a leading manufacturer for EVA film, announced that it intends to invest $226 million to expand its EVA film production capacity in Vietnam.

According to the announcement, the company plans to build a new base in Vietnam to launch its EVA film project for high-efficiency solar cells with an annual output of 250 million square meters through self-raised funds. The funds will cover the operating capital required after the project is put into production. The whole plan will be initiated by a new Vietnam-based wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, and the project is expected to be complete in three years.

The PV film produced by Hangzhou First accounts for more than 50% of the global market share. The company stated that the project is one important step for increasing its production capacity and expanding its global business. The company would like to complying with the development trend of the photovoltaic industry, and assuring its leading position in PV film market with its advantages in quality, quantity and technology.
